Recording Session May 31-June 1

Yay! We're FINALLY in the studio!!
In this session, we laid down the bass and drum tracks at "the Docta's Office" (Trey Terada's studio in Kane'ohe) for almost all the songs, and got some studio experience while we were at it.

Pete & Dobbs sounded great, & our engineer, Kelli Heath (of Da Girlas -- check them out!), is da bomb! She was an awesome "pilot", keeping the whole thing on track, troubleshooting calmly at good speed, and providing very low-key recommendations when needed.

So the next step is the guitars. Stay tuned. We'll be getting them down in mid-July!

Ku & Hina

Part of Kahuli (Ikaika, Pete & Laulani) played for the Ku and Hina art extravaganza brought forth at "First Friday" by Uncle 'Imaikalani Kalahele and other great Maoli artists. Was good fun, and awesome to see many great warriors of the ages to come out to enjoy Maoli art and music.

Moloka'i

Kahuli played for a "mahalo" gig for fishpond workers. Our first "road trip" across the water! Mahalo!

On da plane...

...it had a good sound system! And no need buy headphones!

"Plastic bag!Plastic bag! Plastic bag!"

Ok, you guys, this was a soundcheck, all right?! No cracks!
Unfortunately we apparently didnʻt get any pictures of the actual gig...

CD Artwork

It was the night of the full lunar eclipse...a good time for some KAHULI artwork!

(good thing there was no 20-foot huli, though...)

The mountains, the clouds, the awesome interaction of heavenly bodies...all made it a night to remember...

Anyway...the results might not be perfect...but nothing photoshop can't fix...
