E Ho'omau!

Kahuli's CD effort keeps on keepin' on...slowly but surely...into the Year of the Ox!

Today we experimented with recording scenarios in Ikaika's office (the old Honolulu Magazine building, formerly an old Chinese bank). To keep Kapono's drums from ricocheting off the ceiling, we had to hide him under a rug from Laulani's car (found dumped outside of Kapono's apartment, btw). Pete laid a beautiful guitar track for "Moku o O'ahu", and Marion did vocal and guitar tracks on "Bumbye". Gong Hee Fat Choy!

Laying Tracks Downtown

Ikaika and Kapono laying tracks in Ikaika's office at the Hawai'i Independent. We do what we can, when we can! Meanwhile, Pete and Marion were writing new songs (uh-oh!) in Manoa, and Kapono and Laulani were sneaking out into Chinatown, peeking into the Land of Organica and contemplating broken buildings & photo shoots. In their own strange way, things are moving!
